We've been dealing with a rash for over a month now. NOTHING like this though. It was just sporadic here and there with little red bumps. Today Easton woke up and it is FULL BLOWN! Took him into the doctor first thing and he says it's a classic case of HIVES! Weird thing is he doesn't seem bothered by it at all? Hives is a super itchy rash, but he doesn't seem to be itchy? Strange. He was prescribed 2 different prescriptions and he had to go get his blood drawn just to be safe. I feel so bad for the poor guy....he's covered from head to toe, literally!

Oh my gosh Mel! And you thought his leg was bad sat night..I can't believe he isn't itching like cRaZy! Im itching just looking at it!
Glad he's not miserable through it all! Makes your life a little easier! :)
I had no idea it was that bad! Are they going to do allergy tests on him to see what is causing the hives? Atleast you are blessed to not have it irratate him. Hopefully they will go away soon!
Poor boy! Aren't hives an allergic reaction? Or just Easton? Gavin is flairing up with a little Exema, but it isn't as bad as last year. Good luck with him, and if he does itch drug him up with Children's Benedyl.
Just a little background....Easton has had allergy testing when he was around 7 months old. No allergies to food...yet. He was slightly allergic to dogs and had some allergies to stuff in the air. But that said, hives can be caused by a million different things. His pediatrican said that honestly we probably won't ever know what caused his hives. Great huh? Hives can be caused by numerous things such as allergies or even a reaction to a virus such as the common cold. Which during the month of August he did have a viral "cold" and that is originally when the rash started. Typically hives will disappear after 3 to 4 days, BUT they can last for weeks or month....great, that is what Easton is dealing with.
I have to give him an oral steroid 3 x's/day AND was given a RX for an antihistamine which is better than benadryl but the pharmacy had to order it so it won't be in til tomorrow. Bummer, but for now I am giving him benadryl which has knocked him out!
I am thankful he doesn't seem irritated by the hives!!!! Blessing, YES!
Holy Crap! That is a bad case of them. I had the hives in Jr. High and in high school. They suck. I feel so bad.
WOW!!! Poor kid.. I have never seen anything that bad.. Hope it goes away soon..
Poor guy! My 30 year old sister still sometimes just breaks out in hives for no apparent reason, and no one else in the family gets them. Hope they go away soon.
Poor poor baby! I hope it goes away sooooon!
huge bummer! he's probably too young to notice the itch! my kids never are bugged by chicken pox that young and we all know how itchy that is. which is rad for you! no scratching and fussing is good!
