This evening we went to a local golf course where they have a pond with some ducks. The kids had fun throwing rocks into the pond and watching the ducks. As I was down near the bank with the kids right in front of my eyes was a duck just lying there. At first I thought it was dead, but then I wondered if it was sick or injured. Nope, it was there protecting her eggs! It was neat to see it so close and it would NOT budge an inch. You could tell she was nervous with us being so close. I finally made the kids leave her alone because I could tell she was really scared. It was neat to see!

I love the picture of the 3 of them! I need to take my kids on 'walks' more often. I think it is so cool that you were able to see the duck so close...that is a rare treat!
