This weekend was busy and filled with fun and excitement. Friday night we hung out with our good friends the Allens. We had a lot of fun. And A LOT of laughs! And the kids were busy having their own fun and mischievous adventures....such as "washing" (smothering) toys and carpet with lotion! I regret to say I didn't get any pictures of that event. Bummer.
Saturday morning we woke up to the big tree in our side yard partially snapped! Between all of the rain and strong winds we had I think the branch finally gave way and landed on top of our roof and part of the van. Luckily, there was no damage! Will was excited because he got to use a "man toy" aka the chainsaw (thanks Ben!). The boys, of course, were thrilled to watch daddy chopping wood! While Will got that mess cleaned up I was busy inside cleaning the carpets which needed it badly. They sure do look much better now! (thank you Samantha :)
After the busy work was done Jaden and Easton were both in need of haircuts. Will had the fabulous idea that Easton should have a mohawk. I was NOT for it at all, but let him go ahead with it. I was told that if I didn't like it, and depending on the responses we'd get at church, I could shave the mohawk off. So this is the result of our new WT (white trash) baby....like? or no likey??? I need to know! Will thinks Easton looks sooo cool. I'm not all that fond of it and thinking it will soon need to go. I put my foot down with Jaden's hair and gave him a "regular" haircut.

Saturday night we all got bundled up and went to our yearly tradition of the APS Festival of Lights Parade in Phoenix. This year Aunt Shelly came along and brought homemade hot chocolate with whip cream....mmmmmm. Warmed our insides up! The show was good and the kids really enjoyed it. It's always fun going to that every year and helps us get in the spirit of Christmas (the parade is held every year on the first Saturday in December, so bummer if you missed it, but maybe next year!?)

Sunday was filled with the usual happenings of church and such. We did have tithing settlement as well though. Can't believe it's already the end of the year still!?! Where does time go? Sunday evening we had our friends the Melzers over for dinner for the very first time. That was fun to sit and chat with them and get to know them a little better. They have twin girls who are one day, or really just hours, younger than Easton. They all had fun "playing" with the Christmas tree ornaments! lol
After the Melzers left and the kids were just about ready for bed, Easton knocked over my boxes I won at bunko a couple months back and thought it would be fun to use them as his "shoes".....this kid is so silly! He's always into something ;)

Sounds like a fun weekend! I always forget about that parade. Maybe next year. I have to say, I'm not a fan of mohawks, but he is still cute. Glad you didn't have any major damamge from that tree!
wow fun weekend! i like the mohawk. crazy about the tree but cool you had a chainsaw to borrow! and cute with the boxes, busy kiddo! and dang! i9 miss out on good stuff, with the parade. next year it is on my list of fun things to do!
Joe cuts the boys hair too. We did a mohawk for Ezra once, but I think it was in the summer and it was cut so he could still comb it for church too. It wasn't as serious as Jadens is. I think since you are the mom you should choose if it stays or goes.
What a fun weekend! I am a no likey to the mohawk, but I already told you that at church. It is fun hanging out in nursery and I will see you again next week!
