2 Down, 2 To Go.....
Yep, you read that right! I started Twilight last week and just finished New Moon last night!!!! I've surprised myself!! I do not read. I don't enjoy reading. Except these books DO pull you in and I HAVE enjoyed reading! Everyone was right. So rightfully so, that I think my husband just might end up reading some too! He's just as surprised as to my addiction in reading these and how fast I'm going as I am. Woohoo........Eclipse....here I come!!!

Good news / Bad news...just a bit of catch-up
So I guess it's been awhile since I've blogged.....I know, slacker! Summer has been pretty boring around here and now here it is 2am the night before school starts and I can't sleep! So I figured I'd update the blog just a bit. Although I'm too lazy as of now to upload some of the funny things that have gone on lately....guess those will come later.
Let's see, first off, the good news, I finally gave in and read the book 'Twilight' for the first time ever! I know, I know....most of you are now finished with the 4th book and here I'm just starting the first, but give me a break. I am NOT a reader. I was "peer-pressured" into reading it. I honestly had no desire to read it. I figured though with my insomnia lately I could do something useful with my time and read, but it actually didn't happen that way.......
Which brings me to the other part of my news, "the bad news." I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes last week in my 32nd week of pregnancy. YUCK! I had failed my 1 hour glucose test, so I had to go back last week and take the dreaded 3 hour glucose test.....so what else to do with a 3 hour time slot while sitting in a boring waiting room, kidless none-the-less, while watching the time tick away and wish you could turn the clock??? Yep, I took the book with me and started reading! I finished last night, and you were all right.......it was good! And it did suck me in! Now, thanks to Kim, I have 'New Moon' in my hands and can starting reading it soon!
Back to the gestational diabetes.....I am NOT happy about the news. For one, a pregnant woman in her last trimester who is used to eating pretty much anything she wants will now have to dramatically alter her diet! Which, I guess really is okay since I only have a short while left to go and supposedly the diabetes disappears instantly after delivery. However, I am afraid I will be in the few percentage statistics that "might" develop diabetes later on in life! That scares me. AND I'm afraid my baby might develop diabetes later in life too......LET'S HOPE NOT....but it is a possibility. So now, I am being labeled as "high risk" and my OB doctor that I have been with since I had my first-born and has delivered each of my babies since, is sending me to a perinatalogist for the remainder of my pregnancy. How fun, a doctor I won't even know will end up delivering this baby now. Not thrilled, but I guess if it makes my baby and I more safe than so be it. Which also means I most likely won't be delivering at the "new" hospital here in town that EVERYONE has gloated about being "resort" like. Not fair. So, this coming week I go to my first appointment at the perinatal office and see what kind of life changes will be taking place soon and how to alter my lifestyle for the time being. Wish me luck!
So other than that exciting news....nothing much going on around here. Pretty boring. The kids have been cooped up in the house all summer since Mariah broke her ankle and swimming wasn't an option much longer. Both Mariah and I are excited for school to start. She is a little apprehensive because she will still be on crutches for the first couple weeks of school, and well, that is just no fun! I don't blame her. As much as I'm sad to see the sleeping in days go bye-bye, I'm also ready for my family to get back on a scheduled routine. Jaden will start preschool next month. He is excited for that especially since his cousin Gavin will be in his same class! So we're looking forward to that.
Speaking of looking forward to.........I AM SOOOO LOOKING FORWARD TO THE HEAT GOING AWAY!!! Soooo ready to be done with the gross, disgusting hot days. I'm ready to let my kids free and go outside to play instead of being cooped up inside all day. I'm ready for the park playdates. I'm ready to enjoy some cool weather. So here's to saying goodbye to "summer vacation" and hoping for the cool down to begin......sooner rather than later! I know it's AZ and it stays stinkin' hot through September, but I hope we might just get lucky!
So that's that for now. Hopefully I can go fall asleep now since it is now officially a school morning and no more sleeping in! yay.
